Prime Minister to address national multiculturalism conference
Prime Minister The Hon. Anthony Albanese will deliver the keynote address at the Federation of Ethnic Communities’ Councils of Australia (FECCA) National Conference on 15 October.
FECCA2026 will bring together hundreds of community leaders, policymakers, business champions, researchers and advocates to examine the critical contribution migration and cultural diversity continues to make to Australia’s future.
“Australia is a proud and successful multicultural nation. FECCA2026 will showcase the immense contribution that cultural diversity provides to Australia’s rich social and economic prosperity,” said FECCA CEO Prerana Mehta.
The Prime Minister’s address comes at a time of heightened community and political discourse on Australia’s migration program.
“We can have serious and legitimate debates about migration numbers, social cohesion, housing and cost of living. But those debates should not devalue multiculturalism and how it continues to benefit our country.
“FECCA2026 will focus on a vision of national unity founded on a shared belief that we all belong, that we all contribute, and that our diversity is an integral part of Australia’s identity.”
