We are seeking a highly experienced, strategic and inspirational Chief Executive Officer with a proven record to lead the Federation of Ethnic Communities’ Councils of Australia (FECCA). This is a unique opportunity for a purpose-driven and outcomes-focused leader to guide a well-established and highly respected national multicultural organisation into its next phase of growth, impact and sustainability.

The CEO will demonstrate a strong track record of building and maintaining effective relationships with a broad range of stakeholders across government, community, and the private sector. They will be an inclusive and values-led leader, with proven experience managing and inspiring diverse teams, and successfully delivering organisational strategy in partnership with, and reporting to, a Board of Directors.

THE ORGANISATION

The Federation of Ethnic Communities’ Councils of Australia (FECCA) is the peak national body representing Australians from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. FECCA advocates on behalf of its communities to government, the public and private sectors, and the broader Australian society.

FECCA works to ensure that government policies and programs are fair, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of diverse communities. We champion multiculturalism as a defining value of modern Australia.

Through our advocacy, FECCA strives to ensure that the voices, needs, and aspirations of culturally and linguistically diverse Australians are recognised, valued, and reflected in public policy.

KEY OBJECTIVES 

The position implements the strategic direction set by the FECCA Executive Board; undertakes day-to-day management of the organisation and provides sound fiscal management and legal compliance; representing the organisation as appropriate; maintains and develops highly productive partnerships; provides inspiring and supportive leadership to the staff; prepares complex documents as part of the organisations’ policy and advocacy work. 

The successful applicant will be a highly strategic CEO, with high level experience in the multicultural sector with a capacity to lead in a complex, dynamic and challenging environment.

Key attributes contributing to the success of this role will include exceptional communication and influencing skills, innovation, integrity, compassion, commitment and vision. A strong understanding of multiculturalism and human rights, alongside a deep knowledge of the policy and advocacy landscape, with the demonstrated ability to translate strategic priorities into practical initiatives and outcomes.
