FECCA National Community Pulse Survey

FECCA National Community Pulse Survey

Belonging and Trust in a Diverse Australia: Navigating Difference, Building a Shared Future Together.

Thank you to everyone who has already contributed valuable insights to FECCA’s National Community Pulse Survey.

To help capture a broader range of experiences and perspectives, the survey will now remain open until 30 September 2026. Findings from the survey will be released in a full report at the  FECCA Conference on 15 – 16 October 2026.

Originally developed to help inform FECCA’s submission to the Royal Commission on Antisemitism and Social Cohesion. the survey has provided a great opportunity to gather first-hand feedback and input from people across diverse communities and backgrounds. Due to the limited timeframe of the Royal Commission process, however, some perspectives and demographic groups remain underrepresented.

FECCA has therefore decided to extend the survey and establish it as part of an upcoming annual report aimed at better understanding how people experience belonging, navigate difference, and what supports respectful and constructive interactions across our communities, workplaces, families, public spaces, and online environments.

The report will help inform FECCA’s advocacy, policy development, and community programs. It will also be made publicly available to support organisations, researchers, policymakers, and community members working towards a more inclusive, cohesive, and equitable Australian society.

FECCA as an independent voice strives to ensure that the needs and aspirations of all Australians from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds are given proper recognition in public policy and reforms.

Australia is one of the world’s most diverse societies. This survey is part of a national conversation exploring how we experience belonging, connection, and difference, and how we build a shared future.

The survey will take approximately 15-18 minutes to complete. Questions include:

  • How connected do you feel to Australian society?
  • How comfortable do you feel expressing your identity?
  • Do you think people from migrant or culturally diverse backgrounds are treated fairly in Australia?
  • What does ‘social cohesion’ mean to you? How do you feel when you encounter views you disagree with?

There are no right or wrong answers, and participation is anonymous.

Please complete the survey and share it with your networks, family and friends, if you have not done so already.
