The Government is undertaking a review into multiculturalism in Australia.
The Federation of Ethnic Communities’ Councils of Australia (FECCA) and the Australian Council of Social Service (ACOSS), together with the Settlement Council of Australia (SCOA), Settlement Services International (SSi) and the Multicultural Youth Advocacy Network (MYAN) have drafted a community sector statement to send a unified voice to the government. The statement sets out the sector’s strong support for multiculturalism and its many benefits, outlining 8 key recommendations to government as part of this review.
If your organisation would like to sign on, please email our Policy and Project Officer Thabisa Whittington at thabisa@fecca.org.au with your jpg or other word accessible logo and confirmation of support and we will add you to the many other organisations supporting this important call. We will keep the Community Sector Statement live and keep collecting sign-ons until the next Budget to keep the message loud and clear that the Government needs to do more to support a stronger and more inclusive multicultural Australia.
